Where It All Began...

What Propelled My Career Change?

Back in 2020 i was a cashier making minimum wage while also attending college.

Once covid hit everything changed. We ALL had nothing but time to reflect. Reflect on where we're presently at in life and where we're going.

During this time, my MAIN goal was to reduce the risk of contracting the virus and infecting my relatives who are medically fragile.

I NEEDED to find a new profession that I could do from home.

College Is Not The Only Way

There Is More Than One Way To Become Successful

I found myself seeking "side hustles" and "remote jobs" frequently, which opened up a rabbit hole of possibilities for me.

It dawned on me that throughout my high school years, these alternative career pathways were never brought to my attention. The primary focus is always on education and the pursuit of college, leaving little room for exploration of other avenues.

This is WRONG; instead, we should be offering everyone — young people in particular — the BEST chance possible to become successful. In order to pursue success to the fullest extent, people must be informed of ALL of the various career alternatives available. This involves entrepreneurship, skilled trades, or equipping people with the necessary tools to brainstorm innovative ideas, products, or inventions that will impact and enhance people's daily lives.

College is not for everyone, and most people have now come to the realization that college is no longer the ultimate KEY to financial abundance that it once was for most professions. There are now plenty of people becoming successful without a college degree. Times are changing and to keep up we MUST be able to explore all paths.

Most would say money and others would say the fear of failure. You may even find it difficult to step out of your comfort zone. No matter the reason, i want you to do something for me.

Tell yourself everyday it IS POSSIBLE.

You'd be surprised how much your mindset can impact your life. I don't care who it was in your life that told you that you would never amount to anything, be it an old classmate, teacher, parent, spouse. It does not matter what they think, how you view yourself is what will really impact your life in the end.

If you view yourself negatively then today is the day to fix it.

Stop comparing yourself to others.

Use positive affirmations.

Surround yourself with positive people.

Visualize what you want to achieve and write down your targets.

After countless resumes and job applications, i eventually found a work-from-home job that i have held for a few years now.

Once i got the job, i received a bunch of questions from family and friends about how i did it with no prior experience and where they should look.

This experience inspired me to create a space that helps others get started in any career.

Take it from me, i used to have a negative mindset. When i became tired of the negative self-talk i was subjecting myself to, i started making some changes, and i realized that I felt more at peace with myself, experienced less stress, and became more optimistic about life.
